About Raleigh People Search

Raleigh records are divided among city departments, Wake County custodians, and North Carolina agencies. Deeds, tax parcels, trial-court files, voter data, vital certificates, and old city directories each have a different keeper. We built Raleigh People Search to connect a lawful personal search with the official index, request route, library collection, or counter that can answer it.

Why This Site Exists

Raleigh has three layers of record keepers. The City handles municipal records such as permits, boards, and city administration. Wake County Register of Deeds keeps recorded land instruments and local certificates, Wake Tax Administration maintains the property roll, and the Wake County Clerk of Superior Court holds filed trial-court records. North Carolina agencies run statewide voter, vital-record, license, business, and correctional systems. Local-history materials add the Olivia Raney Local History Library and State Archives. We organize the official search tools, contacts, and access limits so readers can choose the right custodian.

Resources Available Here

  • Record-specific resources: public records, voter records, and people directories
  • Named custodians: Raleigh departments, Wake County Register of Deeds, the county clerk, Tax Administration, and state agencies
  • Search methods: court party searches, property-owner trails, directory fields, archives, and offline request options
  • Access boundaries: what North Carolina Public Records Law opens, what another statute restricts, and where to request an existing record

Limits of Our Role

Raleigh People Search is a privately operated reference site. It is not connected to the City of Raleigh, Wake County, the State of North Carolina, any court, or any records custodian. Those boundaries mean:

  • We do not retrieve, certify, amend, or interpret a government record for you
  • We cannot verify that a named person currently lives in Raleigh
  • We cannot erase data held by an agency or outside database
  • We do not offer legal advice about the effect of any record
  • We cannot promise that every portal, fee, office hour, or procedure remains unchanged

Only the responsible custodian can verify, certify, or correct its record. Information reached through this site cannot be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decisions.
